Spain have been crowned Champions of the World after beating Argentina 1-0 to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the game in the 106th minute to shatter Argentina’s dreams of retaining the title.
A red card to Enzo Fernandez in the dying minutes of the second half capped a disappointing night for the Messi-led Argentine team.
It is Spain’s first world cup trophy in 16 years, having won it in 2010 for the first time ever in their history.
They win the World Cup as current European Champions, just as they did in 2010.
The Spanish team dominated the awards category as Unai Simon won the Golden Glove, Pau Cubarsi clinched the Young player of the tournament, while Rodrigo was named the player of the tournament, winning the Golden ball.
The Golden boot was won by France Super Star, Kylian Mbappe who scored 10 goals.
