University of Ibadan Gets New Vice Chancellor

The Nigeria Premier University, University of Ibadan has announced the appointment of Professor Peter Olamakinde Olapegba as the 14th substantive vice chancellor of the University.
Announcing professor Olapegba appointment on Wednesday , the Governing Council of the institution said the appointment of the erudite social psychologist was done having considered the impeccable reports of the Selection board which approved his appointment
Professor Peter Olapegba who hailed from Igbo Ora in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration before his appointment
A statement by the Directorate of Public Communication of the institution , the post of the Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan would be vacant on 01 November, this year, and in accordance with the provisions of the extant rules, the Governing Council initiated the process of the appointment.
The statement explained that the Council had on Tuesday July 21, met with all eight (8) candidates and at the end of the exercise, five (5) candidates were shortlisted in order of merit for the final interview before the emergence of Professor Olamakinde
The council noted that Professor Olapegba emerged as the best candidate for the position of 14th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan out of the five (5) candidates interviewed for the post.
