Local Government Administration Will Be Revived During My Tenure – Oyo APC Guber Candidate

Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who is the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has emphasised that effective and functional Local Government Administration remains key to sustainable development at the grassroots, saying that his administration would empower the Councils across the State to function efficiently and bring governance closer to the people.
Senator Alli made this known during the “A Day with BSA”, interactive programme organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, , Oyo State Council, held at the Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
He noted that, though, electioneering campaigns have not started, he is assuring all the residents that he would always focus on people-centred policies and programmes that would promote inclusiveness, economic growth and improved service delivery across all the 33 Local Government Areas of the State.
The APC Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, was optimistic of uniting members of the party, including all other Governorship Aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I have been having consultations with other Governorship Aspirants, and other critical stakeholders. I am confident that ongoing reconciliation efforts will strengthen the our party ahead of the 2027 general election”.
While speaking on Education Sector, Senator Alli promised to restore quality, free and functional public education by reducing the number of pupils per classroom, rehabilitating school infrastructure and ensuring conducive working and learning environment for learners and teachers.
The APC Governorship Candidate added that he would prioritise technical and vocational education by strengthening technical colleges across the State and integrating practical skills into tertiary education to enhance youth employability and entrepreneurship.
Senator Alli said, he would strengthen security architecture in the State through improved intelligence gathering, advocating biometric registration of all residents to support Security Agencies in curbing crime.
In his remarks, the Oyo APC Chairman, Otunba Moses Adeyemo expressed confidence that the party would reclaim the state in 2027 and urged all members to mobilise support for all the party’s flag bearers.
Earlier, in an address of welcome, the NUJ Chairman, Oyo State Council, Comrade Akeem Abas said the union remained politically neutral and would continue to set the agenda for all political actors, irrespective of their affiliations ahead of the general election.
