Gov Adeleke Dissolves Osun State University’s Governing Council

The Governing Council of the Osun State University has been dissolved by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The dissolution is contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
According to the statement, the Governor said the step was in a bid to strengthen the institution’s governance structures.
The statement notes that the Governor also reconstituted the governing council to avoid gaps in the operation of the university.
The newly reconstituted council has Sooko (Prof) Adewale Oladipo as the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of Council. He was the chairman of the dissolved governing board.
Other members of the governing council are : Alhaji Gbadegesin Lawal; a Former Deputy Governor of Osun state, Otunba Titi Laoye- Ponnle; Mr Akinola Franklin Omoniyi; Chief Funminiyi Awotide; Mr Orija Samuel Adebayo and Mrs Adewale Adetayo Bola.
The statement notes that the Governor tasked the new council to sustain the impressive record of the University and support the university management for further innovative deliveries.
The statement indicates that the inauguration of the new council will be held on Monday
