Oyo state governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has written the state house of assembly to inform it of his intention to embark on a one month leave
Oyo State House of Assembly at it’s plenary today received and read the letter from the Governor, which notified the legislature of his intention to proceed on a one-month leave from Thursday, August 29, 2025, to Monday, September 29, 2025.
The plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, was in compliance with Section 190(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which mandates the governor to transmit a written notice to the House before proceeding on leave.
In the letter, Governor Makinde conveyed his request for leave and formally handed over the responsibilities of the office to the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, who will serve as Acting Governor throughout the vacation period.
