Tinubu, Amosun, Others Extol Lam Adesina As 2nd Memorial Lecture Holds In Ibadan

Former Governor of Oyo State, Late Alhaji Lamidi Adesina affectionately known as Lam Adesina has been described as a Steadfast Politician who believed in justice, equity and service to humanity.
President Bola Tinubu, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the 2nd Lam Adesina Memorial Lecture Series in Ibadan, Oyo State made the remarks as the event also marked the 13th anniversary of the transition of the former Governor.
President Tinubu represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare, maintained that Late Lam Adesina could never be forgotten in the history of the nation’s democracy.
The President added that, the late Alhaji Adesina was as a patriot who stood tall in service of humanity. “I hold his memory dear to my heart as he was not just a brother in the progressive struggle but as a believer in Nigeria’s promise.
“He taught us that politics could be noble when guided by principles, focus and compassion. As Governor of Oyo State from 1999 – 2003, late Lam Adesina passionately served not ruled good people of Oyo State with the provision of lofty physical infrastructures and human development against the rots institutionalized by the military administrations.” President Tinubu said
The Guest Speaker at the event, former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in his lecture entitled “Sustaining A Legacy of Effective Leadership In Nigeria” implored parents and guardians to prioritize moral impartation and education of their children and wards as “this would give the society the opportunity to have responsible, responsive and impactful leaders in good supply”.
He emphasised on resuscitation of History as a subject in the school curriculum as to rejuvenate the dimmed glory of the core value as Yorubas, noting that such would enable children of this present generation to know what the patriots among whom Alh. Lam Adesina risked to be heroic.
Dignitaries who graced the event included; National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen Ajibola Bashir, Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who was represented by his former Aide, Mr. Demola Obanise), Wife of a Former Governor in Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Oyo State Chairman APC Alhaji Olayide Abas, Elder Wole Oyelese, Sen. Kola Balogun, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Prof. Adeolu Akande, Alh. Fatai Ibikunle, Chief Akin Oke, President, Providence Coalition, Prince Niran Adeyoju, Barr. Niyi Owolade, Hon..Bosun Oladele as well as family members, friends and political associates of the late former Governor.
