Oyo Central Senatorial District Aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli, popularly known as “AWA”, says he knows the actual needs and desires of people in his Senatorial District and that makes him the most qualified to represent them at the National Assembly.
Alli made the remarks while featuring on the maiden edition of the re-launched ‘Hot Seat’, an interactive programme of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oyo State Council, held at the Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

According to him, he had lived long among the people to know what they really want and he can guarantee them good representation, as well as, make laws that would bring about rapid rural development.
Alli maintained that it is very necessary for leaders to understand the specific needs of their subordinates to avoid providing them with things that are not beneficial to them.
Alli also noted that his wealth of experience over three decades gives an edge to deliver unprecedented dividends if given the opportunity to represent the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Alli, who described himself as a grassroots politician and a professional in politics with deep ties to rural communities, emphasised that his ambition is driven by a desire to bridge developmental gaps affecting underserved areas in Oyo Central.
“The role of a senator is to make laws for good governance, ensure proper implementation of government projects through oversight, and use political influence to attract development to their constituencies.”

Alli, however, called on the electorates to make informed choices during the 2027 General Election by voting for credible and good leaders who would truly represent them and transform the country.
Answering question on godfatherism in politics, Alli said politicians would always have leaders in their parties and communities, who they respect and seek advice from, adding that he has such caliber of leaders in the APC including the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
He therefore stressed for the need to elect more good leaders into political offices to complement the ongoing reforms of President Tinubu, who described as an ‘Angel’ sent to rescue Nigeria.
Earlier, in an address of welcome, the Chairman, NUJ, Oyo State Council, Comrade Akeem Abas reiterated that the council was apolitical and remained committed to professionalism, objectivity and promotion of truth.

Abas added that the ‘Hot Seat’ platform is open to all public office holders, aspiring politicians and captains of industries regardless of political affiliations or ideologies.
