IGP Visits Oriire Community Over Recent Schools Attack

Following the deadly attack and abduction of Students and Teachers by unknown gunmen in Oyo State last Friday, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has visited the Community, Ahoro-Esinele, Oriire Local Government Area of the State.
The IGP who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Ojo Adekimi, due to the closeness of the affected communities to the Kwara border, as well as the Commissioner of Police, Schools Protection Squad, Abayomi Shogunle, as part of efforts to strengthen school safety and coordinate response measures, expressed deep concern over the incident and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
During the visit, the Police Boss held a meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Abimbola, and other security stakeholders where he received operational briefings on the ongoing rescue efforts and security deployments across the troubled communities.

The Inspector-General assured residents, parents, and guardians of the kidnapped victims that the Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified search-and-rescue operations, intelligence gathering, and tactical deployments to ensure the safe return of all abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He described the attack as cruel and unacceptable, directing the deployment of additional security assets to restore normalcy in the area.
