Rotimi Amaechi Rejects ADC Presidential Primaries’ Result

Tension appears to be building within the African Democratic Congress(ADC) following the reaction of the former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to the party’s presidential primaries held on Monday.
Amaechi openly distanced himself and expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of the exercise, describing the announced results as unacceptable and falsified, alleging that the process was marred by irregularities and exclusion of many party members.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the former Minister of Transportation maintained that he had earlier made it clear that he would only support the outcome of a primary election conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
He claimed that reports reaching him from different parts of the country suggested that a significant number of party members were unable to participate in the voting process during the primaries.
According to Amaechi, nearly 80 percent of party members were allegedly denied the opportunity to vote, raising concerns over the credibility of the exercise and the integrity of the process.
The development has stirred reactions among party faithful and political observers, as attention now shifts to how the ADC leadership will respond to the allegations surrounding the conduct of the primaries.
