A security breach was recorded at the Nigerian Immigration Service office along the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Expressway in Ogbomoso on Tuesday night after suspected armed men reportedly stormed the facility late.
Information gathered revealed that the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. near the NNPC filling station, where the armed men allegedly gained access to the premises and targeted officers on duty.
Residents living around the area said the attackers overpowered some immigration personnel during the operation and purported seized firearms belonging to the officers.
While the exact number of weapons allegedly taken away remains unclear, sources maintained that the attack did not result in any loss of life or injuries among the affected officers.
The incident has raised concerns among residents over the security situation in the area, particularly along the busy Ogbomoso–Ilorin corridor.
However, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said he had yet to receive any formal report concerning the alleged attack.
