Osun 2026: I’m Not Afraid Of Federal Might – Gov Adeleke

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has declared his readiness for Saturday’s governorship election, insisting that the presence of political heavyweights from outside the state will not intimidate him or determine his victory in the poll.
Governor Adeleke stated this in Osogbo on Tuesday during a town hall meeting organised for some of the candidates participating in the election.
He maintained that his confidence was rooted in the support he enjoys among the people of Osun State and the achievements recorded by his administration in the last four years.
Reacting to concerns over the reported mobilisation of APC governors and other federal political figures to the state for the election, senator Adeleke said their presence would have little effect because they are not registered voters in Osun.
The Osun State governor also expressed confidence that his administration’s performance would speak for him at the polls, noting that he was prepared to overcome any political machinery allegedly assembled against him.
He dismissed suggestions that the endorsement of another candidate by former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, could weaken his chances.
The Governor who further rejected allegations that his administration had concentrated infrastructural development in Ede, cited projects and interventions across other parts of the state, including Ila, Ile-Ife, Osogbo, Iwo and Ilesa, as evidence that his government’s development agenda covers the entire state.
Adeleke urged eligible voters across Osun State to come out in large numbers on Saturday to exercise their franchise and actively monitor the collation of results.
He, however, appealed to all residents, political parties and their supporters to shun violence and every act capable of disrupting the peace before, during and after the election.
