SEMA Warns Residents In 3 Ibadan LGAs Of Impending Flood

The Emergency Management Agency in Oyo State, SEMA, has alerted residents in Akinyele, Egbeda, and Oluyole Local Government Areas in Ibadan of impending flood.
According to a statement statement by the Agency ‘s Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Ojuolape Busari,latest weather forecast suggests downpour in the identified area,calling on all residents to do all within their powers to prevent devastating effects of flood.
The statement notes that some areas would experience over 100mm of rain in the next 24 hours,urging those who find themselves in flood prone areas to act first by moving to higher areas.
Mrs. Busari, while disclosing that the agency is in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Natural resources admonished residents to avoid walking or driving through flood water.
Mrs. Busari identified IITA (Akinyele), the airport (Egbeda), and the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN, Oluyole) as areas to experience high concentration of rain.
