APATA Secures Apc Senate Form, Eyes Osun West Ticket, Reaffirms Backing For AMBO/Adetreti

Written by on May 1, 2026

Chief (Dr) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, popularly known as APATA, has formally taken a significant step in his political journey by picking up the nomination form in Abuja at the Sheraton Hotel, at about 9 o’clock this morning, to contest for the Senate seat representing Osun West Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The development signals a bold declaration of intent by the youthful politician, whose growing influence within the party continues to attract attention across the district.

The atmosphere surrounding the purchase of the nomination form reflected both confidence and momentum, as supporters and party faithful gathered to witness what many described as a defining moment.

For Chief Ogundeji, the move is not merely procedural but symbolic of a deeper commitment to service, representation, and progressive leadership.

Speaking shortly after completing the process, Chief Ogundeji expressed strong optimism about his chances in the forthcoming primary election. “I am confident that I will emerge as the candidate of our great party,” he said, noting that his track record of loyalty and grassroots engagement places him in a favourable position.

He emphasised that the All Progressives Congress remains a party that recognises and nurtures youthful energy and dedication.

According to him, “Our party is youth-loving and forward-looking. It understands the need to allow vibrant and committed young leaders to serve and make a difference.”

Chief Ogundeji further highlighted his longstanding commitment to the ideals and growth of the APC, describing himself as one of the most consistent and active young stakeholders within the party. “I should be among the youngest aspirants in this race, yet my level of commitment to the cause of our party has been unwavering over the years,” he stated.

Reaffirming his readiness for the task ahead, Ogundeji noted that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to deliver impactful representation to the people of Osun West.

He stressed that his campaign would focus on inclusiveness, development, and responsive leadership that reflects the needs and aspirations of the people.

Chief Ogundeji also reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the success of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election. “Even as I pursue my senatorial ambition, I remain fully committed to ensuring the emergence of our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and his running mate, Aare Benjamin Kayode Adereti, in the 15 August election,” he stated.

The Senate hopeful also used the opportunity to call for unity among party members, urging stakeholders to prioritise collective success over individual interests. He maintained that a united APC would not only produce credible candidates but also secure victory in the general election.

A strong supporter of the Chemical Engineering graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Dr Adeoye Adebisi, a native of Iwo in Osun State, believes that Chief Ogundeji’s entry into the race adds a fresh and dynamic dimension to the contest, particularly among younger voters who are increasingly seeking relatable and energetic leadership.

Dr Adebisi said Ogundeji’s message of hope, coupled with his grassroots appeal, is expected to resonate strongly across the senatorial district as the race towards the APC primary gathers pace.

As the stage is now set for the primary, all eyes have now shifted to how aspirants position themselves and engage with delegates.

For Chief Ogundeji, however, the focus remains clear: building support, strengthening party unity, and ultimately securing the mandate to represent Osun West at the Senate.
