Nigerian Army Arrests 46 Illegal Immigrants In Ogun

The Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade, in collaboration with other security agencies, has arrested 46 suspected illegal immigrants in Ogun State.
According to a statement by the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Major Idereghi Akari, the suspects were apprehended in Ijebu Imushin, Ijebu Ilese and nearby communities during a coordinated security operation following credible intelligence reports.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the individuals had allegedly lived in the state for about six months without valid immigration documents.
A4O Radio gathered that during interrogation, they claimed to be traders and workers associated with an online marketing platform.
The arrested persons include 18 nationals of Burkina Faso, 23 from Côte D’Ivoire, four from Togo and one from Senegal, comprising 36 males and 10 females.
Major Akari said the suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command, for further investigation and necessary action in line with the law.
