FAAC Shares Allocation For May

Nigeria’s three tiers of government have received a higher revenue allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), with a total of ₦2.30 trillion shared from revenues generated in May 2026.

The latest disbursement, announced after the FAAC meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday reflects an increase of ₦43 billion compared to the ₦2.26 trillion distributed for April, indicating sustained growth in federation earnings.

Details released by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation showed that the upward trend in revenue allocation has continued in recent months.

The details released captured that the April’s allocation exceeded March’s figure by ₦217 billion, while March recorded a ₦150 billion increase over February.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, the gross revenue available for May stood at ₦3.395 trillion before statutory deductions were made.

The statement further added that after deducting ₦123.546 billion as cost of collection and ₦971.610 billion for transfers, interventions and refunds, a net sum of ₦2.30 trillion was made available for distribution among the Federal Government, states and local government councils.
