2027: Gov Makinde Inaugurates APM Presidential, Governorship Campaign Council

Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, has charged members of the party’s newly inaugurated Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council to build an all-inclusive political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Seyi Makinde gave the charge during the inauguration of the campaign council held at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office, Ibadan on Friday where party leaders and key political stakeholders from different backgrounds gathered to kick-start preparations for the forthcoming elections.
The Governor and 2027 APM Presidential Candidate while speaking at the event described the campaign council as the apex political structure for the party in Oyo State, stressing that its major responsibility is to unite APM members with other stakeholders and strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
He charged the council to work towards presenting Nigerians with what he described as genuine political alternatives capable of restoring confidence in the nation’s democratic process rather than offering mere political illusions.
Seyi Makinde also urged the council members to commence work without immediately, noting that the period for formal political campaigns is drawing closer.
He maintained that the APM remains committed to restoring healthy democratic competition across the country.
As part of the inauguration governor Makinde announced the appointment of the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as the Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign and Director-General of the Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council.
Other members of the campaign leadership included Saheed Arowosaye as Deputy State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, as Deputy Director-General for Oyo South Senatorial District; Dr. Femi Ojo as Deputy Director-General for Oyo Central Senatorial District; and Alhaji Siju Lawal as Deputy Director-General for Oyo North Senatorial District.
Also appointed into the campaign council are Ramata Agberemi-Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing and Kazeem Bolarinwa as Director of the Youth Wing, among others.
