2027: President Tinubu Unveils APC Presidential Campaign Council As Zach Adedeji, Alli, Folarin Make List (See Full List)

President Bola Tinubu has unveiled the leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General.

Under the structure announced on Saturday in a Statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the Council, while the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen 1 and 2.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has been appointed Secretary of the Presidential Campaign.

The Council will be supported by a team of senior party leaders and political figures, including former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; Chief Segun Osoba; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa, who will serve as advisers.

Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern parts of the country.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has been assigned responsibility for mobilisation, while the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila will oversee Administration.

Mr James Faleke, who played a key role in the APC’s previous presidential campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General in charge of election planning, coordination and monitoring. He will work with directors representing the six geopolitical zones.

For legal affairs, Mr Muiz Banire has been appointed Director of the Legal Directorate, with Dr. Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as Deputies.

The Media and Strategic Communications Directorate will be coordinated by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, alongside media strategists including Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Bayo Onanuga and Director General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

The campaign council also announced its spokespersons and New Media team, with Dr Dele Alake leading the five-member spokespersons’ team. Segun Dada will return as Director of New Media, while Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary of the Directorate.

Other members of the Council have been assigned responsibilities covering communication, election monitoring, mobilisation, coordination and other critical aspects of the campaign.

Unveiling the campaign coordination structure, President Tinubu charged members of the council to work collectively and ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.

He also directed the various Directorates to accommodate other party members who may not have been included in the formal list, stressing the need for an inclusive campaign structure.

The President said the administration’s achievements in economic reforms and national development should form a major part of the APC’s campaign message as the party seeks to retain power in the 2027 elections.
