3 Bus Drivers, 2 Passengers Die As Fresh Crisis Erupts In Osun

Fresh violence in Ikire, Osun State, has reportedly claimed the lives of five people, including three commercial bus drivers and two passersby, following a violent clash allegedly linked to an attempt to take over a commercial transport garage in the town.
The incident, which occurred on Monday has allegedly caused panic among residents of the area as people hurriedly closed their shops and businesses for fear of further attacks and destructions.
A video circulating online showed the aftermath of the incident, including the lifeless body of a man, said to have sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the head, slumped inside a vehicle.
Another body was also seen lying by the roadside.
The identities of the victims had not been ascertained, while details surrounding the circumstances that led to the clash remained sketchy as at press time.
The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Mr Abiodun Ojelabi, when contacted confirmed that the command was investigating the incident to ascertaining its cause.
