Three persons have been confirmed dead while 20 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a road accident at Tonkere town along the Ife-Ilesa Expressway.
Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun State Command, confirmed this to newsmen.
The State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Sunday Adebayo, explained that a Toyota Hiace bus and a black Volkswagen Golf car were involved in the accident.
Mr. Adebayo blamed the crash on excessive speeding and dangerous driving.
He warned motorists against behaviours capable of endangering their lives and other road users.
He explained that the deceased comprised two females and one male, while the injured victims had been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Mr. Adebayo called on motorists to reduce their speed and exercise greater caution while driving, stressing that lower speeds could reduce the severity of injuries and fatalities when crashes occur.
He reiterated that the FRSC would sustain its public enlightenment campaigns and other road safety initiatives across the state, with a view to reducing road crashes and preventing avoidable deaths on the roads.
